In this section we wish to highlight the faces and the names of some of the members of Fredericton’s Black community in the 20th and 21st century. To name only a few:
Gerald Carty (1925 - 2008), who flew over 35 missions in Wellington and Lancaster bombers during WWII and was one of the youngest commissioned officers in the RCAF;
Esther Taylor & Rev John Melville Burgess on their wedding day at St. Peter’s Church, August 2, 1945 |

(1911 – 2004);
and world renown Canadian opera singer, Measha BrueggarGosman
(b. 1977).
